| Animal details | piebald - male (♂). "Gundy" so named for his breeder, Brian Gundy, is an amazingly sweet and mellow fellow. He's a favorite with our Science Outreach Volunteers and he charms even the most skeptical-about-snakes folks. He has sired several clutches for us, but we still haven't definitively proved him to be heterozygous for clown (both his parents were het clown, giving him a 66% chance). In 2017, several of his offspring showed enriched chocolatey coloration and aberrant patterns; we think Gundy may be the source of these darker, richer browns. Hopefully, 2018 will be his year and we'll prove whether he is het clown as well as the possible heritability of those chocolatey colors. His disposition ensures him a place in our Outreach Programs regardless! |
